If you are interested in joining our network, the process is:

  1. Review the Mission, Guiding Principles: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and Bylaws - if you are interested in joining our network, move to step 2. If not, please let us know why, we want to hear your ideas!
  2. Fill out the Synergy Membership Questionnaire (for both types of membership)
  3. Select the type of membership you are interested in joining Synergy as.
  1. The Board will evaluate your membership form request, your online presence, and will contact you within 1 week with any additional questions and/or the next steps
  2. The Board will conduct a phone interview, using 5 questions (or more if you are a trainer), and request a 1 minute training video (if applicable)
  3. If your membership has been accepted, the Board will introduce you to the network at the membership level you have selected

These are the questions we will ask during the phone interview:

  • How did you hear about us?
  • Why do you want to become a member?
  • In order to help us plan network activities, please provide 2 topics of continuing education that you wish to improve upon within the next 2-5 years.
  • Tell us about a time that you didn't meet your client's goals, and how you might adjust your approach in the future.
  • What is the percentage of time you are working with a human client versus an animal client?
  • Case Study (for trainers) - you go to a house, an adolescent Great Dane presents with jumping on people, what are the first 5 things you will address?

Please note: as we expand our membership opportunities in the future, this membership request process will be adjusted to include appropriate inquiries for other pet-related businesses.
